Hong Kong

.. arrived in Hong Kong last night. Pretty quiet overall, was expecting it to be a little more hectic.. guess it's the quiet season. Strange mix of crazy Asian sights and sounds mixed with designer stores and glamourous banker types coming out of highrise buildings.

This morning got up and went to the harbour which was breathtaking view of Hong Kong Island,
then caught a ferry and a bus across to the Peak tram, which literally climbs up the side of a cliff and about a 45 degree angle.. the view was pretty good - apart from the haze.. very high though but was able to handle it. Then heading through the banking district and then back to Koolwoon via the train, so all forms of public transport so far covered. Feeling pretty tired but the Koolwoon gardens were great; comprising of a tropical bird avirary and lots of tai chi, plus a massive swimming pool with (i counted them) ten life guards, and 2 people swimming. They are very safety concise here it's all a bit funny. Few glasses of wine at the Royal Palace Hotel (Happy Hour) and on for the light show tonight..

not a writer, not really a good blogger either...

So I'm starting another blog. It's to dictate my travels and various other bits and pieces. I once had a blog called Sweet Beats and Treats. It started in Dec 2006, ended in Jan 2007 and had a total of 27 posts, which was pretty good considering how short lived it was. This blog is going to be roughly half travel observations, and roughly half marketing observations and notes. I shall clearly mark which section is which, as so those who are reading do not get confused.

"Travel Bits"
I have yet to leave the country and I'm already blogging about my travel plans. Scary that. Anyway, I bought the backpack yesterday, and walked around Sydney with it on. Pretty sure i was looking like a complete tool. But i'm into research so I think it was justified. Just. 5 sleeps to go.

"Marketing Bits"

I like the idea of being able to spew forth my ideas and observations about the marketing world. There is a kid (literally he is like 19) on the forums at MarketingMag and he suggests the best way to get a great job in marketing is to blog about it. He's a second year student who isn't even working.. but well I need all the help I can get, so blogging is worth a shot.
